Many humidifiers on the market employ a 'layer after layer' structure that almost feels like a Matryoshka Doll 🪆, typically aimed at ensuring optimal mist dispersion and efficient water circulation. But this design adds layers of complexity to user interactions.
While I was disassembling my humidifier, a scoop of ice cream gave me a delightful epiphany.
The spoon, with each dig, crafted a graceful concave, culminating in a fine tip. Emulating these soft curves and fluidity of melting ice cream, here comes a new structure - a cap reminiscent of an ice cream scoop, coupled with a meticulously contoured channel beneath, letting water flow smoothly into the tank.
No more disassembling, just pour the water from the top!
I then created a brand identity for melt, celebrating its sensorial connection with ice cream. Drawing inspiration from my favorite gelato hues, the color palette evokes those delectable moments of indulgence.
Since the lockdown, I picked up a new hobby of experimenting with Ceramic Glazes. 🧪🔥
Each time I fire a piece, it's always a surprise to see the final texture that varies depending on the firing temperature and ingredient ratios. So I've been taking lots of photos and notes with an expectation to see my knowledge grow over time and to create a library of glaze recipes for future reference. But after a while, my motivation to keep track of these experiments was dying out.
* Too many tools were involved - paper notes/ photos/ web links are scattered everywhere.
* High effort to archive and organize fragmented records.
* Lack of quick and delightful reviewing experience.
